Mission: L.E.A.D. The Laboratory for Experimental Alzheimer Drugs is devoted to the discovery and development of new therapeutics to treat Alzheimer’s disease. LEAD was founded by Drs. Dennis Selkoe and Michael Wolfe and established in early 2006. Under the direction of Dr. Corinne Augelli-Szafran, LEAD is a chemistry laboratory investigating how small, drug-like molecules can be used to block a key biological step in the disease process. LEAD’s novel approach represents an important starting point for the development of rational and effective therapies and is based on their deep knowledge and decades-long experience in deciphering Alzheimer’s disease.
